High Tech Corvette has taken blonde bombshell Kensey for the wildest ride of her life. After doing a photo shoot she had the privilege of being a passenger in a Viper V-10 powered 1969 Dodge Charger. She was blown back into her seat as the driver rammed the throttle into the firewall.
The mighty roar of the V-10 could be heard as the driver peeled out of the corners. The video gave little info on the Charger, which meant we had to play Detective and do some digging of our own. After some sharp detective work, we believe that this is none other than the 1969 Dodge Charger R/T VC-10 which was featured in the March 2014 issue of Mopar Muscle.
The suspect was identified by it’s metallic black paint job, red rear stripe and of course the deadly Viper V-10 engine. The entire car has been re-engineered to not only have the powerplant of a Viper, but to handle and perform like a Viper on a road course.
The 605 horsepower 505 cubic inch Viper V-10.
The Charger’s solid axle was removed in favor of an ’05 Viper IRS with 3:07 rear gears, while the drum brakes were exchanged for four Viper power assisted ABS disc brakes with six piston calipers. Gliding this midsize beast around hairpin turns is an Xtreme Innovations and Fabrications suspension complete with Viper control arms, rack and pinon steering and Afco coil overs.
The infamous V-10 was built by Dick Vandezelden at Creative Arts. Its been stuffed with speed parts from Oliver rods, CP Pistons, as well as custom hand fabricated parts including an oil pan, an air intake and stainless steel headers, bringing the power rating up to 605 horses. The motor is tied to a Tremec T-56 transmission pulled from a 2005 Viper, the dual overdrives provide better top end performance on the roadcourse.
This machine isn’t your ordinary high performance Pro Touring Charger, no it’s more than that, it’s essentially a Viper in Charger clothing.
