Not too long ago, a treasure trove of pre-war cars were discovered in a barn, carefully hidden away. Motostalgic Chairman Anthony Brunet found Jack and Sally Kosmatka had stashed several unique cars nearly 45 years ago. The vehicle line up is purely amazing. A 1932 Milburn Electric Model 27L, a 1908 REO Model G and even the original 1932 Cadillac V12 Victoria Convertible were safe and sound in their Texas refuge. The Kosmatka’s originally planned on breathing new life into each of the cars but it unfortunately never happened.

Just a couple of weeks ago, the cars all rolled across the auction block for Motostalgic Auctions in Indianapolis, Indiana. In the video above, you’ll see an inside look that Hagerty put together of the experience. Jack and Sally were sad to see the cars go. These cars had been a part of their lives for so many years that they had grown extremely accustomed to their presence. “It came to a point,” explains Sally “where we realized we’re never going to be able to take them out and fix them the way we wanted to.” A positive solace for the couple was knowing that the cars were going to good homes.

When Brunet went to pick up the vehicles, Sally instinctively went to begin cleaning them up. Brunet stopped her and said he wanted each of them to go to auction exactly the way they were. In the video, he describes how he feels the years of dust and marks were just as much part of them as their story.
