A Lamborghini may be fast, but these Italian supercars are no match for home built Aussie muscle. While cruising the streets Down Under, two guys in a Lamborghini ran into a mean yellow jacket Ford Falcon XY GT at a stop light. As the Falcon pulled up the guys in the Lambo new it meant business since the sound of its cackling V8 could be heard over their V12. The Light turned green and the Falcon rocketed ahead leaving the Lambo sitting in the dust. As you can tell this isn’t your Mum’s Ford Falcon.

The Ford Falcon XY was produced by Ford Australia from 1970 to 1972. The XY was a four door sedan variant of the standard Falcon. The XY GT was powered by the deadliest of all blue oval small blocks- the 351 Cleveland V8. This little monster which produced 300 horsepower had a compression ratio of 11:1. The 351C is mated to a top loaded four-speed manual transmission which runs to a Ford 9-inch rear end.

We aren’t sure of what mods the 351C (or whatever engine is under the lid) has but who ever tuned this machine knew what they were doing. We have a feeling this stop light race is one the Lambo will never forget. What was your most memorable stop light race where someone surprised you with what they were driving?
