The proliferation of the Internet has given rise to small independent film studios who often add their own take on both well-treaded subject matters, and things a bit further off the beaten path. While Ford has already covered Pure Vision Design’s Martini T5-R Mustang, complete with a fake backstory and an incredible Ford IndyCar V8, theres always more to uncover on this incredible car.

One of our favorite online storytellers, Petrolicious, sat down with Steve Strope, the man behind Pure Vision and the Martini Mustang, to really dig down and see what this car means to him. In short, Steve considers this Mustang to be loud and fast art, plain and simple.

In fact, calling it anything but art is an insult to Steve, who researched the parts and design of his unique Mustang tirelessly, in pursuit of the elusive “Wow” factor. Steve loves it when people see his car, and then keep coming back to admire it two, three, or more times. That is when you know you have something truly special.

For Steve though, this Mustang is just as much about the fabricated backstory and the Ford/Lotus IndyCar engine, an amazing feat of engineering that was designed strictly for racing. Steve based the Mustang around what he calls the “anchor of probable reality”, working under the assumption that had Ford wanted to, they could have done many of the things he did…and come to find out, an IndyCar-powered Mustang was taken to Bonneville for testing.

Truth and fiction aren’t always so far apart, as it turns out.
