What does it take for a car to catch your eye? A candy paint job? Crazy custom modifications? A sick story? Well, this 1960 Cadillac custom hearse call the “Thunder Taker” has all that and more. But having been built by Fuller Hot Rods, what else would you expect? Check out this amazing and unique custom creation in the video above, compliments of Eastwood.

What started out as a 1960 Cadillac converted into a hearse by Superior Coachworks back in the day, turned into the project car of the decade for Bryan Fuller and his four-man crew nearly three years ago. With a “Why Not” attitude and the skill, Fuller and his team quickly took the already modified car from vintage to valiant and exposed the fruits of their labor recently at the 65th Hot Rod Homecoming Show. Previously, the car has been shown at such events as the 2012 SEMA Show.
As Eastwood captured, the crowds at the recent event were drawn to the car, and who wouldn’t be with a Cadi’ hearse chopped 5 ½ inches sporting a Fleetwood windshield, a custom 80-inch long sunroof, stretched Cadi’ fins and a Chevy Performance Parts ZZ454 engine contributing 440 hp to the car sitting right up front on the show floor? Of course, this being one of the longest hot rods most people have probably ever seen probably didn’t hurt the situation either.
A truly rare car and an even more unique build, this hearse is one for the books. And we at Rod Authority will bet you’ll be seeing a lot more of it in the upcoming show season!
