This year’s Street Rod Nationals South event at the Chilhowee Park & Expo Center in Knoxville, Tennessee invited all forms of old-school street rod and muscle that fit within the National Street Rod’s definition of “manufactured more than 30 years ago” criteria.
The Knoxville event was a vibrant blend of rod and muscle, as the NSRA had been expecting at least 2,900 cars to show up for this year’s event. With an expected average car value range of between $8,000 to $250,000 with an average of $48,000 per vehicle, the estimated dollar value of all cars attended is said to have come out to more than $87 million.
Our featured video is of a cruise-in heading to the Street Rod Nationals, and as you can see the diverse crowd consists of several fine examples of three-window coupes, Willys and even Chevelles and 442s, along with a clean Tri-Five here and there.
The South East’s biggest street rod, custom and performance car show, the Street Rod Nationals promised all show entrees the opportunity to be eligible for gifts and awards presented throughout the event weekend.
The NSRA’s 38th installment of the Nationals South event, the street rod organization used almost all of the Chilhowee Park property for the showcase, including buildings for manufacturer vendors and other attractions. Event attendance was at an all-time high at the NSRA's 38th-annual Street Rod Nationals South.
In all, it was a grand celebration of all things rod and muscle in which attendance was at an all-time high, and our featured clip stands as real proof of why this year’s Nationals South event was such a success for the NSRA. It also stands as a promise that next year’s Street Rod Nationals will have an equally epic outcome!
