When it comes to LS engines and the vehicles they are swapped into, you can bet that we’ve seen a few LS swapped Porsches ourself. Most recently, we shared this LS3 swapped Porsche Cayman which was an absolute beast on the street.
It’s easy to see why these cars are becoming more and more popular as hosts for LS engine swaps. Cars like this ’95 Porsche 911 Carrera 933 are legendary in the racing world.
In fact, this example is most known as one of the last ‘air cooled’ Porsches. This particular 911 is no longer powered by its original air cooled 3.6 liter flat-six engine. The car has become host to a freshly rebuilt 5.7 liter LS1 V8 from a C5 Corvette, boasting a respectable 475 horsepower thanks to a few new modifications. The engine sports a few breathing upgrades from FAST like their 102mm intake manifold and throttle-body combination, while exhaust needs are handled by a set of custom-fabricated 180 degree exhaust manifolds which exit to a centered exhaust in the rear.
Inside the Porsche, custom red gauges with LED lighting and Porsche carpets with matching orange stitching give this mid '90s Porsche a more modern touch. And with its RS orange stitching on the door panels, reupholstered dashboard, shifter boot, and center console, you can bet this Porsche separates itself from any other of that era.
Apart from the LS1 engine swap, this Porsche features aftermarket performance from some heavy hitters in the industry. A Vogue Auto Design (VAD) wide body kit with adjustable and riveted side skirts has been equipped on the car, along with a set of deep-dish SSR Professor wheels paired with a set of wide-and-sticky Toyo Proxes R888 tires. Suspension duties are handled by an AccuAir self-leveling air suspension suspension which is controlled by an Airdynamiks control management system.
The car recently came up for sale on eBay with a starting bid of $70,000, but was never sold. Now begs the question – with over $90,000 invested into this ’95 Porsche 911 as the seller claims, was it worth the starting bid? What would you have paid for it?
