How many rat rods have you come across in your car show days that were the same? Probably not one, realistically. But when it comes to rat rods, Rick Newberry’s takes the cake for being the most unique rat we’ve ever seen. That’s because not only is it a custom rat rod, it’s also a 1957 Chevy Nomad all rolled into one. Check out this crazy contraption in the Urban Hillbilly video above!
Built by Chris Walker of In the Weeds (ITW) Hot Rods in Stacy, Minnesota, this super unique rat rod is one for the books.
Now, if you’ve seen this rat rod before, it’s probably because it was featured in issues of Rat Rod Magazine as well as in Rat Hard Magazine in 2013. Why? Well, because it’s not only one of the most unique rats out there these days, it was also the 2013 winner of the Rat Hard Rat Rod Build Off where builders compete to see who can create the coolest rat in the country.
While the chopped, channeled, and ratted out Chevy wagon certainly kills it with the looks, the rat is also performance packed with a blown 355ci Yeoman Racing Engines power plant up front. The car also features a custom ITW Hot Rods frame.
