If you are planning on entering the Holley LS Fest burnout contest in the future, you better bring your A-game. There were some great burnouts this year, but nothing compared to Tim Grillot’s 1978 Ford Fairmont know as the FairMonster.
Tim is the Engineering Director of Holley Performance Products, and he came out swinging with a 14-71 supercharger and 1,200 horsepower. Even though his combination is good for over 2,000 horsepower, Tim turned the boost down for the contest. With just 10-pounds of booth, the FairMonster put on a burnout clinic for all of those who were watching. From where we were standing, you would only catch a glimpse here and there as the car shot through the smoke on the course. It’s the closest thing that we have witnessed to an Australian Burnout Car here in the states so far. If you are not familiar with the anatomy of a burnout car, check out this link. They are wildly overpowered cars with their only purpose being to kill all of the tires which they do effortlessly.

As the smoke cleared, it was evident that Tim had won the LS Fest East 2019 burnout competition. Check out the rear tires —or lack of —on the FairMonster.
While Tim’s feat was impressive in person, the video brings it to life as the car whips around violently destroying the tires with wheel speeds of over 200 mph. What was also majestic is the drone pilot’s skill set. The pilot was able to catch some fantastic footage making the extravaganze even more entertaining. If this video doesn’t make you want an LS-swapped car with a 14-71 blower, don’t bother sending us a friend request. We can tell you it’s not going to work out.
We hope to see more of this type of burnout exhibition in all future LS Fest events. If it’s one thing we like, it’s the sound of a set of zoomies blasting the sweet song of horsepower combined with vast plumes of tire smoke. It makes us giddy.
