Mooneyes’ Pin Up Girls Live The Hot Rod Lifestyle

The folks over at Speedhunters gave us a cool glimpse of some of the women involved in the hot rodding culture at large. If you can restore an old 1930 Ford coupe to look like it was built back in the day, why can’t a woman dress like they were from that era? The guys are also doing it, showing up in their rat rods wearing their T-shirt and leather jackets with greased back hair, and a pack of cigarettes wrapped up in their sleeve.

The girls are dressed up too, looking like the pin up girls, you know the ones you would see painted on an early World War II bomber.

Hot rodding is definitely changing. When we look at the younger generation, we used to think Honda, or Nissan. You know those Jap Traps, little tuner cars that we wish were never built. Hot rodding is becoming fun again. The hot rods, rat rods, and lead sleds are showing up at events all over the country. They have gatherings that are labeled things like, The Rockabilly Rumble, or the Hot Rod Jamboree.

It’s nice to know that the numbers are getting much larger when it comes to kids and women getting involved in old-school style hot rodding. We can’t help but think that because of this”what’s old is new again” trend in hot rodding, the women are finding just as much enjoyment in the car hobby as the guys do. And that’s not a bad thing because it’s much easier to get them to attend a car show or cruise night now, even when it’s not close to a shopping mall.

Whether we like it or not, the girls will always be a part of hot rodding, and the car hobby, whether they are the models that are pictured with a show car or new product display, or they are our wives or girlfriends. Isn’t it better to have them on our side enjoying the hobby as much as we do, then having them bitch about what we do?

We spent so much time looking at these pics were completely forgot to care about what kind of car she was in.
