Although the comments are limited in this vintage footage, the actors are able to convey a great deal without the use of dialogue. Nothing sells family cars quite like cute children, so things begin with some childish interaction between two wholesome American children. With a little boy and girl making faces at one another through the dealership window, it is hard to deny the cute factor as well as family vehicle sales technique.

As the little boy is making faces, his father is captivated by styling of the 1959 wagon. Although there is no specific model mentioned, it appears that father and son are checking out the mid-level model known as the Brookwood. Brookwood wagons were a step below the iconic Nomads, but a step above the entry level Yeoman offerings.
This flashy new wagon is then compared to the family’s current mode of transportation, a Ford with some type of issue that kept the door from properly closing. As the wife catches her husband and son checking out the new Chevrolet, she is then mesmerized by how nicely the door closes on this new Chevrolet. With mom’s approval and hatred of the old family hauler, the family is shown testing out the 1959 wagon. Even though the times have changed, many of the classic advertising strategies are still in use today.
