The RingBrothers rolled into SEMA 2024 and unveiled their diabolic take on the 1971 Plymouth ‘Cuda. “INFECTED” is an interpretation of how you can roll the cool colors Mopar used to use on their vehicles, high-level fabrication, and raw horsepower into one vehicle. The final product is another instant classic from the Ringbrothers that any muscle car fan will love.

INFECTED was built entirely built and designed in-house by the Ringbrothers team with over 5,600 hours going into the project. The ‘Cuda’s wheelbase was extended, but the front fenders were actually shortened to give the car a unique look. A single piece of billet aluminum was milled and used to create the grille surround and front bumper guards. Additional custom features included narrowed and tucked bumpers, extended lower rocker panels, a custom diffuser, one-off floors, and driveline tunnel.

“The ‘Cuda has always been one of those cars we’ve been itching to build. The lines and proportions are the quintessential muscle car, so it is the perfect canvas to break new ground and highlight our in-house capabilities,” said RingBrothers co-owner Jim Ring. “The paintwork is an homage to Mopar’s High-Impact colors of the ‘70s, albeit with a proprietary twist. We worked directly with our partners at BASF to create what we’re calling ‘Pink Eye,’ a not-so-subtle nod to the Hellcrate Redeye engine.”

To power INFECTED, a Hellcrate Redeye engine that cranks out 807 horsepower was secured. A Bowler TREMEC TR-6060 six-speed transmission was paired to the Mopar mill. This driveline would be wasted without a good chassis, so the RingBrothers decided to use a Roadster Shop FAST TRACK chassis to host the go-fast goodies. HRE Muscle Series wheels were selected as INFECTED’s rolling stock.

A custom interior from Upholster Unlimited was crafted from white leather to reside inside the ‘Cuda. Dakota Digital gauges were added to the dashboard. To keep things comfortable inside INFECTED, a Vintage Air Gen IV climate control system was used.

“INFECTED was shaped by the theatrics and joyful nature of classic Mopars, with the added benefit of modern performance,” added Ringbrothers co-owner Mike Ring. “This car is a celebration of vibrant color, design, detail, and, of course, performance. This build provides an opportunity to showcase how cutting-edge building techniques up the ante and enhance classic American muscle. The Ringbrothers hit the mark with INFECTED. This classic ‘Cuda takes just the right amount of modern technology and merges it perfectly with the car’s classic looks.
