While on a mission, one of KGP SpyPhotography’s field agents managed to capture footage of what they believe is the 2015 Dodge Challenger. The field agent (whose name has been classified for security reasons) spotted the Mopar Musclecar cruising on a snowy highway outside of Detroit. Judging from the way the target was driving, it appears Chrysler is testing the highway capabilities of the car.
KGP believes this car is the 2015 Challenger SRT which has been rumored for the past year that it will get a supercharger. Though it’s hard to see under the black tarp, the 2015 Challenger has received a face lift closer resembling a 1971 Challenger. It achieves the 1971 styling using a two part split grill and redesigned headlights.
On a separate drive a KGP agent, spotted a blue 2015 Challenger on the side of the road. This Challenger had it’s hood opened and indeed their was a supercharger. This supercharged engine is a 6.2L (392) Hemi which has been nicknamed the Hellcat. The Hellcat is aimed to produce upwards of 700 horsepower.
Our own sources say that the Hellcat Hemi should make its debut later this summer, possibly in June. Though we hoped to see it sooner; SRT CEO Ralph Gilles said, “We wanted to bring it out but it’s just not ready yet. We have a couple of test cars but they’re not ready to debut at this time.”
The rumors are true: the 2015 supercharged Hemi and redesigned interior.
While the driver was distracted wrenching under the hood, the KGP agent managed to snap a pic of the interior confirming an update. The interior appears more racing-inspired with an old school style shifter and a more aggressive dash. The 2015 Challenger looks like it’s going to be one hell of a beast. It looks like it will carry the spirit of an early 1970’s musclecar into the modern age.
