When you think of classic Cadillacs, what do you picture? Grocery-getters? Luxury cars? While you’re mostly correct on both fronts, the 1964 Cadillac DeVille convertible featured on the latest episode of Big Muscle is much more than that. In fact, it’s got enough style and oomph to make us question what really constitutes muscle in a car. Check out this unique ride in the video above.
Owned by Ron Dean, this vintage Cadi is anything but typical. Clad in a black paint scheme with custom flames and an Oxblood interior, this Cadillac has plenty to offer. But while the interior and exterior color schemes are definitely noticeable, there’s one defining component that makes this car the hippest vintage Cadillac around. Of course, we’re talking about the massive 671 blower sticking out of the hood.
Attached to a 468ci big block, this blower helps shoot Dean’s 4,600lb Cadillac down the street to the tune of nearly 650hp. Aided only by new shocks in the front and an airbag suspension system in the rear, this car is as muscular as non-traditional gets.
Dean’s Cadillac is certainly one of a kind and after doing a few makeovers on it, Dean seems to be content with his creation, at least for now. But as we all know, the modification bug can be pretty persistent and we look forward to seeing where the blown Cadi goes from here, not that we’d change a thing!
