We cover a lot of shows nationwide including many of the Goodguys Rod & Custom Association events, we scope out many of their annual events for the best hot rods and customs in the country to put in front of our cameras and feature in our digital magazines. But rarely are the tables turned; that is, until now.
While our team was out at the Goodguys PPG Nationals in Columbus, Ohio a couple of weeks ago, the crew at Goodguys tracked down our beloved Rod Authority Group Editor, Mike Alexander, and put him in front of the camera to ask his opinion on the show and the evolving hot rod scene and trends. Check out his interview in the video above.
Having been involved in the automotive industry practically since he was in diapers, Alexander knows his way around the publishing world and has enjoyed photographing and documenting customs, trucks, lead sleds, classics and car shows around the world for more than a decade. He’s normally behind the lens, but his buddies at Goodguys decided to turn the tables and razz him for a bit of fun at this year’s GG Nationals.
So what exactly did Goodguys ask our editor-in-chief? Well, he weighs in on the gorgeous show cars in Ohio, the crowds of people and of course the ever-growing and changing world of hot rods and the next generation.
But you don’t have to take our word for it. Just check out Alexander’s thoughts in the video above!
Special thanks to John Drummond and the crew at Goodguys for their hospitality at the PPG Nats in Columbus.

Not only does Mike Alexander lead the charge for the Hot Rod Group over at Power Automedia, he also has the talent behind the camera to catch shots like this. Check out more of Alexander’s work from the PPG Nationals Preview here.
