If you’re into Mustangs, then you ought to be tickled pink by this gorgeous ’67 GT500 listed on Bring A Trailer. With just under five days left at the time of this writing, the current bid is $75,000– an awful lot less than we usually see such cars going for.
The listing states that the car’s travelled roughly 57,000 miles, so it’s not exactly the lowest-mileage example we’ve ever seen. However, that’s not necessarily a bad thing – it’s been driven, and if it’s been driven then it’s been enjoyed. Far too many incredible classics never see more than test miles and climate-controlled display floors, which – as we’ve said time and again – defeats the purpose of the car in general.
But just because this Shelby’s been loved doesn’t mean it’s a slouch when it comes to presentation. In ’98, it received a full 14-month restoration, and was runner up in the muscle car division at the Kuwait Concours d’Elegance four years ago. And from what we can see in the listing, it was definitely deserving.
The listing goes through a laundry list of panels, trim, interior and so on, stating that everything is original or was restored with correct parts, and it’s all in great condition. Under the hood also lies the proper Ford Cobra 428, rebuilt during the restoration; the car even carries it’s original clutch and pressure plate, which were also rebuilt– how’s that for “all-original”?
Potential buyer’s are presented with more documentation than they’d know what to do with, all backing up these descriptions; the car truly is a dream, even from a buying perspective. Again, the bidding is currently at a meager $75,000, but we expect it to climb quite a bit more before meeting a new owner. It’s hard to say just how much more it will go up, but all we know is that we wish we had the dough for it.
