The video game industry is forecast to be worth over $90 billion dollars by the end of this year, thanks to the continued success of traditional, AAA titles on consoles and computers. Yet a growing number of gamers are turning to smartphones instead of consoles to get their fix, and big name titles can no longer ignore the mobile gaming trend, giving us games like Need For Speed: No Limits, which coincidentally is limited to iOS and Android operating systems.

In a push to get even more people playing Need For Speed: No Limits, EA has added a must-drive vehicle to the game’s. That would be the star of Gymkhana 7, the custom all-wheel drive 1965 Ford Mustang coupe better known as the Hoonicorn.

Brought to gamers as part of an update that includes a new racing championship to partake in, Ken Block’s Hoonicorn is now a part of the mobile gaming phenomenon. A virtual Ken Block will also partake in the No Limits racing action, competing with you side-by-side in his 2014 Ford Fiesta Hoonigan rally racer in the new Xtreme Racing Championship challenge. Beat Block, and you get to add the Hoonicorn to your virtual garage.

However, the event is a limited time offer in the first-ever Need For Speed game for mobile phones. And while the game is technically free-to-play, the in-app purchases that give you access to better cars and performance parts tilt the tables in favor of those who actually pay to play. But with this being one of the few places you can experience Ken Block’s Hoonicorn, at least virtually, you’ve got to take the good with the bad we suppose. With over 1,000 virtual racers of nearly every king to partake in, at least you won’t run out of competitors for your Hoonicorn anytime soon.
