There are few things more American than a cross-country road trip, and for decades generations of young Americans have enjoyed the privilege of hopping behind the wheel and navigating this country’s many highways and byways. Arguably, the most important aspect of any road trip is going to be your chariot of choice, and while most cars these days are up to the challenge, the right ride can really enhance the experience.
If you’ve got 15 minutes of free time, and you’re not the jealous type, then this video of two buddies taking a spontaneous cross-country journey in a Challenger Hellcat is a great reminder of what road tripping is all about. No plans, minimal packing, just you, your friend, and the open road.
And what better way to break in a brand new car, besides? Buddies Ryan and Dan apparently put almost no planning into their trip (though they did take the time to get a couple of “take off” shots and an overpass shot before embarking), bringing just a bag of goldfish along as road snacks. Poor planning and a thirsty engine aside, the two are clearly enthused about spending the next few days sitting just a couple of feet behind the 707 horsepower Hellcat motor.
Along the way they make a few stops with friends, and find plenty of Hellcat fans (as well as concerned police officers) along the way. From their home in Providence, Rhode Island, the pair stops in New York City, Michigan, Chicago, the Badlands of South Dakota (without even knowing that the Badlands are) and Mt. Rushmore. From there its on to Denver, the Grand Canyon, before their final stop in Los Angeles.
All in all, if you love road trips, Hellcats, and bonding moments between bro, we’d highly recommend checking this video out.
