Whaaaaaaa? Joe Dirt 2 is officially happening! That’s right, and that feeling in your stomach isn’t disgust, it’s just your inner redneck rejoicing. Come on! Admit it, what car guy doesn’t love Joe Dirt!
Regardless if it is just David Spade needing to make a movie to pay off his recent vehicle purchases, we have to say we are pretty excited to see this movie. The first one not only featured the notable cars like his 1969 Dodge Charger Daytona and his ’67 Plymouth GTX 426 HEMI convertible, but just look at the list of cars that you can see in the movie:
1974 BMW 2002
- 1975 Chevrolet El Camino
- 1955 GMC Blue Chip
- 1964 Mercury Comet
- 1979 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am
- 1959 Rambler Rebel Cross Country
What’s not to love with a list like that? The first Joe Dirt received very mixed reviews, but was still able to produce just over $30 million at the box office. And with a production budget of $16 million the movie was somewhat of a good success netting a profit of $14 million. Really kind of makes you wonder why it has taken this long to make a sequel.
Based on the preview above, it looks like the second installment of our favorite redneck will feature a lot of the original cast. Scenes can be seen with Christopher Walken (Clem), Brittany Daniel (Brandy), and Adam Beach (Kicking Wing). Joe Dirt 2: Beautiful Loser is set to release this August exclusively on Crackle. Until then you can learn what Crackle actually is, and in the words of Joe Dirt, “Keep on, Keepin’ on.”
