The infamous blown 1970 Dodge Charger R/T from the Fast and the Furious is so powerful and intimidating that even the Iron Giant himself, Vin Diesel, was afraid to drive it. Christopher Rutkowski knows all too well what Dom Toretto was talking about in the 2001 film, as he recently had the privilege of piloting the iconic the Charger.

Since its movie debut in 2001, the Fast and the Furious Charger has won the hearts of countless gearheads. It has everything a gearhead could ask for in a musclecar: a blown Hemi mill louder than thunder, rugged-sexy body lines, and the raw high-speed performance of an F-15.

The car’s owner, Bob Hartwig, is a seasoned pilot who flew F-15s during Desert Storm and later became a pilot for United Airlines. As a hobby, he began collecting cars from his favorite movies, which began when he purchased one of the original General Lee Chargers from the Dukes of Hazard.

His collection has grown over the years and has led him to become a partner with Picture Car Warehouse (PCW), a company that supplies cars for Hollywood movies. Hartwig and PCW purchased the Charger after it was done being used in the 4th film of the series.

A couple of years later, the production company called him up asking to use the car for a sequence for Fast Five (the studio gave Hartwig a free glass-like paint job) and recently Universal Studios needed the car again for Furious 7.

The Fast and the Furious has grown to become the most iconic car movie franchise of all time. The Dodge Charger has arguable become the flagship car of the series, overtaking the Supra, Skyline, Lancer Evo, and GTR as it has appeared in five of the seven movies in the series.

After years of flying Eagles, Hartwig had to get a little action on the ground. While she may not have twin afterburners, we are sure the supercharged Charger R/T provides plenty of go.
